I wanted to dislike it for being so derivative of Fill Up The Hole, but I do appreciate that it kind of does its own thing beyond the basic premise and aesthetic. I am also as disappointed as others at the AI usage, but again appreciate that you at least bothered to iterate and balance. More than can be said about the outright AI slop.

very dissapointed to learn that this entire game is ai assisted

that sucks

*Tried trowing some of the red stuff from the backline, and the game right away started running at 1-3 frames per sec.  It was running all fine before. Reloading the game does not reset the lag.

**Had the auto trower enabled, and it did not trow all the way to the pit. So it landed on the road. The workers preoritised the "farms" first, so had to remove all workers fra any ressource.

*** Did not help

oof, that sounds bad. The workers should be able to pick up any resources on the ground. I will take a look! Thanks for the details!

just happen right now , after the weird rain its started to run at 1 frame per sec . I can’t restart it cauz i will loose all my save.. please helpp us

and yeah i just loose all my progress…🥲

you lose your save too?how are you playing the game? Browser? The downloaded version? That will help me a ton. I thought I fixed the saving issue!

i was first plying on browser using chrome on a iphone . When its started bugging , i added it on my home page as an app done the same thing again. And tell me when i want to load a save its asking me to write something. What do i have to write ?

minor UI problem, you have the upgrade time in black, and the background is also dark....

You cant see what it says.

Yea I noticed that this morning, I will get that fixed up probably Monday. Thanks for reporting it!

idk why but my haulers keep bouncing between the quarry and the garden without collecting anything

hmm I will take a look! See if any recent changes would’ve affected that

(+1)

beat it with out ever getting machines that should give an achivement

(+2)

one thing I would add is a spark level upgrade for the hauler. note I know of the belt but thats only for the rock and none of the other resorces

(+1)

Pollution :(

Really fun and short incremental, love that it's a bit silly and the automation loop is pretty satisfying. The end was a bit anticlimatic but it was still really fun!

My Sqwife is saved!

It would have been quicker if I didn't keep gambling all my pebbles away when I was almost done...

(+1)

I desperately need dark mode. My eyes are burning

loool its crossed my mind for sure, i will add that to the list!

After unlocking the black hole/getting acid rain, all the haulers decided to take the day off for some reason, took more than quarter of an hour for them to fix themselves - think it said they were looking for pebbles? (also just got the belt), as the belt dumped it into the pit it's like they were trying to pick up the pebbles that were being pulled into the abyss
Casino is just boring, baby's first roulette, bad rates too
Mid game was very stone starved, can't make them focus on the rocks to collect and miners often walk a lot for one last pixel they missed. Be good to expand the belt to the other resources also

(+1)

Really fun, ran into a few weird bugs. Firstly, the Apothecary started with the option to give potions to everyone, even before I gained access to that role, but as I gained more roles (miner, farmer, etc.) I was limited to only giving potions to haulers and diggers. Secondly, once you get the belt the haulers tend to get stuck by the edge of the pit. Not a huge deal, but it slows stuff down. Finally, using the casino and winning large amounds after the void appears seems to trap your winnings in the casino.

Otherwise a lot of fun and a good incremental!

(+1)

I like it. Ending is underwhelming though.

I agree with other comments, casino is pretty useless late game, and I'm not betting all my gains for a chance to gain small amount relatively speaking.

(+1)

yea the story and lore is something i want to expand more. it is the bare minimum i wanted to have before publishing here.

with all the casino comments, i think i might be in for a casino overhaul soon.

(+1)

Delete the casino.

(why on earth would a game like this have a casino? seriously?)

its also way too expensive at the point that you get it in the game, i bought it after beating the game out of interest but it is way too expensive and obviously useless.

yea casino was just a goofy thing i added, not important to the game at all so i never balanced it or put too much thought into it.

Can I make a suggestion? As it is, the player is betting x of resource y to potentially lose or double that amount. If they have enough y, it doesn't make sense to do, and if they need y, it's mostly an easy way to take longer to get the amount they need next, given the high odds of losing the bet.

If the casino had 1 to 4 options, randomly generated, to bet x1 of y1 for a 50/50 chance to win x2 of y2, that might be tempting. "I'd happily bet 50k pebbles for the chance to win 5 stardust", that kind of thing.

If the bets reset every two minutes or so, camping the casino would be boring and suboptimal, but visiting every so often a potential boost. So, it'd be a distraction, which feels thematically appropriate.

Very fun game, just finished it. Some feedback:

  • One of my haulers is stuck at the edge of the pit with a full load
  • The mana brew won't go to the wizards, just keeps piling up. I feel like the option of who to give the potions to is not working very well in general
  • In the previous UI, you could see how many upgrades were left for certain upgrades, was that removed intentionally?
  • Would be nice to have a menu/shortcuts to scroll to the different buildings directly
  • Some upgrades are available before they are relevant, for instance the wizard upgrade for machines, when you do not have any machines yet

appreciate you taking the time to play and share some feedback, i will fix those bugs.

the change to remove the dot indicators was intentional, but im thinking about incorporating them back in. i did really like the pips. now that the new shop is out, ill look into putting them back in.

can't bank the winnings from the casino whenever it gets past 50k pebbles

nice luck at the casino, thats def a bug. it used to be blocked if the pit was full.

My father growing up had a pretty bad gambling addiction, I would appreciate it if gambling wasn't as prevalent in the game.

Just finished the game, and I really enjoyed it!! Everything felt very well thought out and rewarding. The version I played had some moments where the cart workers would forget what they were doing, but it looks like you're working on that. Overall, a very enjoyable play!!

thank you for playing! yea first day of release, theres definitely going to be some kinks to iron out, but im glad you enjoyed it!

The fact that workers stop when a rock drops and then the barrier makes them stop for like 10-15 seconds hurts the game flow.

yea hear that, im going to update that tonight so they stop dancing so long.

Farming messes up the haulers logic/pathing priorities: sends 3 haulers to pick up 3 green squares, first one picks up 2 second picks up 1, third runs back empty handed, when each is capable of picking up 7.

i recently updated the logic for the haulers, have you reloaded/updated recently? that sounds like something i fixed this morning

Why do the upgrades on the quarry output per dig reset every time I load the game? Also, which buildings can be mechanized? I took forever to mechanize the farm since I didn't need it fully staffed, and now that I've done that I'm wondering if I can mechanize the wizards, but I'm wondering if you can just keep adding more forever.
And can you make it not pause every single time you finish a boulder? You can do it really fast by the end, but there's no reason to party since your squife isn't even under there. Just make them party the first time and every time you add something to try to block it.
Also, the force field isn't properly lined up with the boulder since I last loaded it. Not that it should be there at all. All it's doing is pointlessly slowing everything down.
The enchanted TNT upgrade doesn't seem to be working. It always says I can upgrade it again and go from 300 -> 375.

oo the quarry output is a real bug, fix rolling out shortly. the rock, quarry, and farm all have machines to unlock. i dont have a machine for the wizards yet, thats a good idea though. theres no limit to the amount of wizard hats you can make. theres limits on farmers, quarry blaster, and rock breakers, since they unlock a machine. but wizards and carts are unlimited.

the rock celebration was something i added just as a fun thing that happens occasionally, but once you buy the ram, it becomes an increasing percentage of time spent dancing around. i will introduce an update to reduce the dance time after so many rocks happen.  great idea!

yea once your sqwife is saved, the dome is pointless. ill remove that post game.

yea i think thats related to the ore yield bug, should be fixed soon. thanks for taking the time to comment, it really helps!

(+1)

Nice pacing, good idle/active play options, well balanced, fun emergent gameplay elements, good escalation, rewards optimizing play but doesn't require it, nice juice visually and auditorially... Well done!

(+1)

Not bad, but quarry seems to be very bugged. Right now the workers are stuck doing nothing except going up and down the ladder, but even before that it was producing about 10 ore per hour, even with tier-4 upgrades.

(+1)

lool sorry about the quarry issue, workers got confused and were a bit lazy after my last round of changes. i uploaded a new version with a few fixes, so hopefully this issue is resolved.

(+1)

Game is adorable! I absolutely love it!
But there is one nasty bug (or as I think it's a bug)
Quarry drops their stones below the surface, and (probably that's connected) real stone income is far from what statistics say.
May I suggest to place animation start for stone at some static point (probably on top of the quarry) instead of squarrymen? Or maybe make a fail-safe feature to move "below-ground" items up until they are pickable?
Right now quarry is kinda wall, and I think that's the reason.
P. S. Played portable windows version.

thanks for playing! i just pushed a fix for the quarry issue, seems to be the problem child.

It is decent but I became bored after around an hour because progress is just that slow. Will check back in if/when more is added.
The division of labor is not sorted by type of labor, meaning when you have enough laborers, you will have to scroll and count manually at some point if that matters to you. I like having the workers/haulers/every role be even. I would also like more explanation as to what things are for; I have no clue why I should build an apothecary, and when I built it, I was correct that I was better off not building it at all. I also fail to see why would I care about a janitor when it has no bearing on production I can see or feel. I want the end goal and I will do what it takes to get there as the player, you're not offering me efficiency beyond automation.
Also, for a game that is so excruciatingly visually simplistic as part of its inherent style, I'm not sure why or what you even needed AI for. Most programs come with the ability to make a square. As for coding, it isn't very advanced, so you might learn more if you actually took the time to teach yourself the basics so they don't get consistently stuck in what appears to be basic bugs.

appreciate the feedback! i will absolutely be adding more content, addressing feedback, fixing bugs. I agree the buildings and upgrades dont have a lot of details, by design. maybe i need to make them sound more intriguing, and explicit on value when they are built.

the ai disclosure is a bit vague on this platform, let me clear up my use of ai. i've built this using claude code. theres no generative ai art, just code. the art and sprites are all represented in code as a 2d matrix. since theyre just black cells its easy enough to turn on/off cells to create shapes. which is what the machines, buildings, hats, all are. so claude built the systems in code for the simple art style to be represented in code.

i made the sound effects myself. first time creating sound effects.

i had claude generate the list of achievements and i went and created the titles for it. so even though i wrote all the achievements, the disclosure for text also includes text that is edited by humans that was first created by an LLM.

i dont know why but for some reason the quarry stops making ore after a few digs untill the dig site resets, making progress very slow :c

sorry about that! i had a bug with the quarry, workers were way too slow, should be fixed now!

(+1)

Amazing game! It was so much fun playing!!

Wow thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

(+2)

Very well done!

thank you so much!

(+2)

Fun game with a nice loop, honestly watching the sqwoman just kinda accept being repeatedly crushed by a random boulder had me wheeze laughing when I first saw it.

I think having the option to repeatedly upgrade the same thing would be great, as it gets a little tedious having to wait at the upgrade menu to upgrade the same thing repeatedly.

Congrats on the great game!

thanks for playing, and feedback!

Great game!

thanks for playing!

game hits a point where the guys who carry stuff to the pit stop grabbing the main stone pile and just run loops over near the quary

thanks for hopping back in! yea that decision logic has been tough. it was the opposite at first, workers only hauled the stone pile and ignored the quarry and farm. im testing new logic out right now and will push an update today.

ive found if i need to clear out quarry or farm resources, ill remove all the miners so the rock pile stops taking priority.

I ran into the exact same problem. I even set the quarry down to zero, and they just loop there while the stone pile stays at "pile is full".

i just pushed an update out, lemme know if you still run into the same issue.

(+1)

beat the game would love to  get every thing maxed out to truely finish but the game has no save system so i cant access your new update to do so

but over all fun

i really appreciate you playing all the way through! you're probably the first person besides myself to beat the game.

for the new updates, you should be able to reload the page and the save should transfer over to the new versions.

if you're worried about losing progress, you can hit esc to open the pause menu and the "save a copy" will save your progress to your clipboard that you can then "load a save"

i will add save slots to the game though.

i did not even know i COULD save i saw no way to do it

(+1)

cant download :(

(+1)

whoops, i uploaded the web version but not the downloadable one. Ill update today!

(+1)

ill have the windows build up shortly, and will push up mac/linux today as well!

(+1)

thank you sir!!!

(+1)

game resets if i tab away from the game

Oo sorry about that, I’ll look into that and get that fixed.

yep, found the bug, pushing up the fix soon.
